It was just announced that Charlotte, NC based retailer, Belk, announced its partnership with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton to launch an exclusive line of men’s apparel.  In 2010, former-quarterback Cam Newton helped lead Auburn University to an undefeated 2011 BCS National Championship winning season.

The collection is self-titled MADE Cam Newton, and will offer professional menswear starting in Spring 2013.  And in Fall 2013 they will add accessories and shoes to the line.  MADE Cam Newton will be available in 133 Belk stores across the Southeast and Belk.com beginning next spring.

One of the most compelling remarks concerning the collaboration was by John Thomas, Belk’s Executive Vice-President of Private Brands:

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with one of today’s emerging style icons [Newton].”
