It’s hard to believe that fashion week has come to a close! Looking back on the week it all seems like a wonderful blur of style, celebs, good friends and shows! Here are the remaining shows I had the pleasure of attending…
I began the day with the sophisticated line Douglas Hannant. The womenswear line is perfect for a woman that enjoys fine, classic clothing for luncheons, meetings and other obligations.
The show was really unique as it was not at Lincoln Center but the New York Historical Society. The room was full of sophisticated socialites all carrying the timeless Hermes Birkin bag. We sat in the auditorium when the lights dimmed and large screens came down showing videos of flowers blooming. Then the first model came out and walked across the stage….
The designer takes a bow!
The next show of the day was the always popular Milly! And interestingly enough USA Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte was sitting front row…needless to say girls were swarming him!!
The SS13 collection was fantastic! It was a muted neutral palette with shots of neon and metallics. Very fresh and futuristic…and really sporty, which appeared to be a big trend for next spring.
There were lot of cut outs and sheer/mesh inserts in the collection.
Designer Michelle Smith and her daughter!
Front row of new designer Whitney Port’s (from MTV’s show The Hills & The City) show included India de Beaufort from Jane by Design (ABC Family guilty pleasure), Kelly Besimon, and Elle’s Joe Zee…
And Bravo’s Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Caroline Manzo.
Her line is called Whitney Eve and is perfect for a 20 or 30-something girl that enjoys looking effortlessly cool and needs a wardrobe to transition from work to a night out.
I loved the hair style with the multiple bobby pins, very cool.
My last show of NYFW was Vivienne Tam…always a beautiful show! Her SS13 collection was inspired by the 5 elements, see for yourself in the color palette…
FIRE! Loving this interesting take on peplums..
The huge trend for spring continues… cut outs!
Her SS13 collection debut also came as the same time as her new fine jewelry collection, TSL. Im LOVING these oversized hoops!
Charlotte Ronson is always a popular show with a celebrity front row. Ronson is not only a designer but boasts a socialite and successful family. Her brother Mark Ronson is one of the coolest DJs…and her sister Annabelle Dexter Jones is a model..and her other sister Samantha Ronson, also a DJ, dated Lindsey Lohan for a hot minute.
Take a peek at the finale thanks to my friend Tiffani of Style by Tiffani who attended the show for me…
My friend and fashion designer Mubina attended the DL1961 show for me and kindly wrote a lil something about the lively show…
DL1961 was founded in 2008 with a mission to create “the perfect fitting jean”.
The show started off with ballet dancers sporting their SS13 denim collection, which was a great way to grab the audience’s attention. The dancers were able to move with ease, even in their jeans!
The show exhibited a variety of looks; one trend that really caught my
attention was the nude and white denim. I thought this was refreshing after
seeing so much color this summer & into fall.
The fit and style of the DL1961 jean is amazing as it is made from XFIT LYCRA denim. This material prevents the jeans from stretching out…which is always a pain when they sag & bag!
Hope you enjoyed my NYFW coverage! Until next season Southern Femmes!
