Fashion Week wouldn’t be the same without visiting with some of my favorite New Yorkers!  Today I had the pleasure of attending the Allure Magazine party at The Empire Hotel, followed by the ‘Fashion Plate’ lunch at Rosa Mexicana with the fabulous stylist Belinda!

The first show of the day was Brazilian designer Carlos Miele at Lincoln Center.  Miele always packs drama and glamour into his collections.  He called his SS13 collection ‘a hallucinatory jungle’.

Before the show began another show was going on…P*TRIQUE (aka Shit Fashion Girls Say) was flitting about with the CNN camera crew!  I died.  He is HYSTERICAL AND SO RELEVANT! Can’t wait to see the next video he creates…maybe it’ll include Kelly Bensimon (shown above with him).

I loved the way this top was styled…the silk blouse was tucked into the trousers only in the front creating a beautiful train!

Reem Acra makes the most to.die.for beautiful.breathtaking clothing. The end.  But really her ready to wear, bridal collection, and evening wear is all amazing and worn by celebrities to every red carpet event… See for yourself:

Cut outs appear to be a big trend for SS13…loving this paper thin leather skirt and top with cut outs.

I want this dress!  It’s so retro and effortlessly chic.

The sheer inserts/panels rocked Acra’s runway, tres chic et sexy.

GORGEOUS!!

The colors in this dress were truly stunning…I can’t even begin to describe them– they reminded me of sherbet hues.

Chris Benz is my fashion obsession.  You’ve probably seen my posts on him before as I think he’s extremely talented, creative and a master of just looking damn cool.  Benz is a Parsons grad and has worked for another one of my fashion idols, Marc Jacobs.

Most recently, Benz made a very wise decision (and exciting for us younger fashionistas) to lower his price point from ‘designer’ to ‘upper contemporary’.  So think prices comparative to Elizabeth & James, 3.1 Phillip Lim, etc.  Check out his super cool SS13 collection…

Billy Reid is the king of menswear right now.  I thought I was maybe a little partial being from Alabama (Reid lives in Florence, AL) and having recently interviewed the CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year for Alabama Magazine…but it turns out that the rest of the fashion industry agrees, they love Billy Reid!

Billy takes a bow!  Isn’t he the best?!  Pick up the current issue of Alabama Magazine for my feature on the designer.
