While most designers are collaborating on more cost-friendly lines, Stuart Weitzman has come out with a new, more expensive line, SW1. Weitzman recruited Jimmy Choo veteran, Alvaro Gonzalez, as creative director for SW1. “I always like to draw attention to the back of a shoe,” says Gonzalez. “When a woman leaves the room, it’s more important than when she enters. Boys, girls, they always look at a woman from behind. It’s the most interesting part!” The best materials in rich jewel tones are being used for this fabulous line! Shoes will retail between $595 and $995, and handbags will retail between $800 and $1,500. SW1 will launch this fall at high-end retail stores, such as Neiman Marcus.
