It’s always bittersweet when New York Fashion Week comes to an end…I’m sad to leave my fashion friends, and being completely immersed in fashion from around the world, but nothing is like Sweet Home Alabama.
My first presentation of the day was one of my favorite strong women, Norma Kamali! She has literally dressed EVERYONE in her feminine, sexy garments..Beyonce, Scarlett Johansson, Michelle Williams, Lady Gaga, Kate Winslet, Mary J. Blige, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, and most recently Madonna in her new music video AND for her Super Bowl performance!
What a unique idea to have cut outs of models in her designs! She also had large screens playing in the background of her models dancing about in her Fall/Winter 2012 Collection.
Trend Alert: Cut Outs are HUGE for Fall 2012!
The STUNNING, chic, and utterly cool Norma…She is also very into holistic health and wellness…no wonder she looks so fabulous and youthful! Check out her Wellness Cafe.
The last show of NYFW..Milly by Michelle Smith. Foodie Gail Smith (in teal dress), and Real Housewives of New York, Ramona (far right) were spotted front row.
Milly’s FW12 collection had a nice balance of color and darker, fallish hues. Aka perfect for a Southern Femme!
Cobalt/Royal Purple + Chartreuse + Hot Pink + Kelly Green + Black = Milly Color Palette
Michelle Smith takes a bow!
NYC-based Honor by Giovanna Randall showed at Lincoln Center this year. Her mission as a designer is beautiful…
Clothing should make you feel free, free to be anything—you should wear clothes that make you feel like you, and it’s totally fine to be one thing one moment and then someone else the next.
In addition to the usual somber fall & winter hues, designers seemed to be showing a lot of magenta. It really POPS against the black garments.
Thanks for tuning into my fashion week coverage!! I have TWO more NYFW surprises left to share, so make sure to pop back by the blog soon!
